Suprastin is a classic first-generation antihistamine widely used to help relieve acute and chronic allergic reactions. It works by blocking histamine receptors, helping reduce itching, swelling, redness, tearing, and other allergy-related symptoms.

Suprastin is often recommended for seasonal and year-round allergies, as well as more pronounced allergic reactions where a fast, reliable antihistamine effect is needed. Due to its sedative properties, it may also help reduce discomfort associated with intense itching.

Indications (Helps With)

  • Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever)

  • Allergic conjunctivitis

  • Urticaria (hives)

  • Dermographism

  • Contact dermatitis

  • Food allergies

  • Drug-induced allergic reactions

  • Reactions to insect bites

  • Itching of various origin

Used as adjunct support in:

  • Systemic allergic reactions

  • Angioedema (Quincke’s edema)

Form

  • Oral tablets

  • Pack size: 20 tablets

How to Take

Take orally with meals, without chewing, with sufficient water.

Adults:
75–100 mg per day (3–4 tablets daily)
Maximum: 4 tablets (100 mg) per day

Children:

  • 3–6 years: ½ tablet 2 times daily

  • 6–14 years: ½ tablet 2–3 times daily

The daily dose may be adjusted by a healthcare professional but should not exceed 2 mg/kg body weight.

Special Instructions & Precautions

  • May cause drowsiness, dizziness, or reduced alertness

  • Use with extreme caution in elderly or debilitated patients

  • Use cautiously with sedatives, tranquilizers, analgesics, MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, atropine, and sympatholytics

  • Avoid driving or operating machinery during use
